Dear Parents,

It was great seeing you all at Report Card Pick-up. I really appreciate all of the kind words and positive feedback**! Please bring in canned good for the canned school drive. There is a box located inside of our classroom . Great news!!!! **Student are doing much better on timed multiplication test! Please continue to practice with your child every night. Students were given additional time for their project summaries.

**Supplies needed:** lined paper, pencils, individual pencil sharpeners, colored pencils dry erase markers

** Weekly Objectives**

**Literacy- Reading for a purpose!!! **Students will continue to focus-on Informational Text

**(Close Read)**Fourth Graders will identify structural features of Informational Text. They will identify structural patterns found in informational text to strengthen comprehension

**Inferencing/Generalizations- **4^{th} graders will make simple inferences, using information from texts 4^{th} graders will draw conclusions, using information from texts (nonfiction)They will also able to determine central ideas or themes of a text and analyze their development; summarize the key supporting details and ideas

** Math-** *The World of Fractions!!!!* Students will understand decimal notation for fractions, and compare decimal fractions. (Lessons 4.3-4.7) Students will compare two decimals to hundredths by reasoning about their size. Recognize that comparisons are valid only when the two decimals refer to the same whole.** **Students will also learn how and why decimals are important. People use them everyday in different situations, such as counting money, looking at price tags, reading an odometer. The decimal system is a way to express large and small numbers by utilizing the decimal point

**Science-** Students will begin a unit on the human body. Student will spend the next 6 weeks comparing the different functions of the skeletal and muscular systems. students will still continue to work on their science fair projects.
