Dear Parents,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! Thank you all for sharing your holiday photos and traditions with me. Congratulations are in order. Thanks to all of your child’s hard work room 206 was awarded a pizza party for having the most canned foods. Way to go! As a reminder, students are required to have headphones/earbuds by this Friday. Lastly, all dojo points were erased. Students started with new points last week to reflect the start of the new marking period.

Weekly Objectives

Literacy:Students are completing their  novels for their guided reading groups this week. Please ask your 4th grader “What are you reading?” Readers will infer/predict.  They will use evidence from the text to support their answers.

Social Studies: Students will identify Natural Resources that America is known for. Students will also have a unit test this week. Please look for Study Guide

Science:“The Human Body” Students will conclude their exploration and investigation of the muscular system. Students will be evaluated on their exercise videos identifying 3 major muscle groups.

Math: Students will continue to investigate the  wonderful world of Fractions. Students will use fraction manipulatives, drawings, and number lines to explore fraction equivalents

Report Card pick-up is Wednesday, November 18, 2015. This is a non attendance day for students. If you have not signed up for a time please email me. Thursday, November 19, 2015   The State of Ray Budget Meeting @ 5 p.m right after Ray PTA meeting Thursday November 19, 2015 @6p.m. 

Canned Food Drive is taking place this week. Please bring in can and non perishable items.

Dear Parents,

Congrats to Room 206 Grade 4 all students completed their timed tables text with 100% accuracy in less than 60 seconds!!!!!! Way to go class! Please encourage students to study their tables, the next test is on Friday. As a reminder, book reports on guided reading Novel#2 is due on Monday November 9, 2015.

Weekly Objectives

Reading:  Readers will use character traits to describe character in their stories. They will use evidence from the text to support their selection.

Social Studies- Students will identify main idea in informational text

Science- “The Human Body”  Students will begin to  explore and investigate “Animal vs. Plant Cells. ”. Students will investigate the similarities and differences between the two cells.

Math- Students will convert hours. minutes and seconds,  classify triangles by angle properties. Students will also create and interpret statements and equations for multiplicative comparisons.
