Math: Students will identify a line of symmetry for a two-dimensional figure as a line across the figure such that the figure can be folded along the line into marching parts. Students will use transparent mirrors to draw a reflection of an image.  After practicing drawing reflections, they will also identify symmetrical lines on polygons.

Reading: . Students will determine the cause and effect in a story and support their opinions with specific evidence from the text.  Guided reading group discussions will also focus on author’s purpose and theme.

Social Studies: Students will continue to enhance their learning about the United States and its 5 regions.  Students will use historical maps, flow charts, and timelines with an emphasis on the Northeast Region

Science: “Invention Convention” For the past few weeks, the students began to generate ideas about inventions. Last week, the students started to think about an invention that they could create and use to make their lives easier.  This week we will continue that dialogue in school. We will also research famous inventors. Throughout the week, the students will continue to research to refine their ideas.
