 Congratulations to Asher Moon-Sarudi  Room 206 Student of the Week!

 

Dear Parents,

PARCC

On Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 9:15 AM, the fourth graders will be taking the math portion of the PARCC Assessment. Because it is the first year of the assessment, we will treat this test as a learning experience. Students will be encouraged to do their personal best. For the last month, we have been discussing the importance of perseverance. Throughout the week, the students will be praised and applauded for their hard work and perseverance on the PARCC assessment. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this testing experience, please contact me.

 

Weekly Objectives

Math- Students will begin with UNIT 8 Measurement. Students will describe the procedure for finding the perimeter of a rectangle and recognize that perimeter is measured in linear units.

Literacy- . The Anchor text for the week is “The Ever-Living Tree pg.585” Students will use the monitor and clarify strategy to read.   Students will practice their figurative language rap and be ready for a friendly rap competition!

Writing: “Should Justin Bieber be Deported cont…? “  Student will continue to find supporting evidence of an article and state their opinions as they begin to form an argument essay.

Science- Students continue to identify parts of an Ecosystem. Students will identify various consumers, decomposers and producers in an ecosystem and how they are interrelated.

Social Studies- March Women’s history Month! Students will comprehend the impact of women in history. Students will receive their Women’s History Research Project Outline.

Homework

Monday: NO BOOK LOG. Read “The Ever-Living Tree pg.585”  Work on Women’s  History Project. Practice reciting figurative language rap. Study Links 8.1

Tuesday:  NO BOOK LOG. Read “The Ever-Living Tree pg.585”  Work on Women’s  History Project. Practice reciting figurative language rap. Study Links 8.2

Wednesday:  NO BOOK LOG. Read “The Ever-Living Tree pg.585”  Work on Women’s  History Project. Practice reciting figurative language rap. Study Links 8.3

Friday: NO BOOK LOG. Tic-Tac-Toe assignment Due Monday March 23, 2015 – Figurative Language Test all 4 stanzas 3/23/15
