Math –Students will continue working on Unit 9 (Fractions, Decimals and Percentages 9.4 -9.8) Students will learn how to accurately represent the relationship between fractions, decimals and percentages.

Literacy– This week we will begin the story “Owen & Mzee” pg. 613 (Anchor Text).  The skills and strategies for this story are Comparing and Contrasting and Analyze and Evaluate. 

Social Studies – Women’s History Month Projects Due this Week!!!! We had some dynamic presentations today. I look forward to hearing from all of the students.  Please Note: We are behind one day because I was attending a teacher professional development on Monday March 31, 2014. Please contact me if you need to know when your child presents.

Students will also begin to identify the states and capitals in United States by region (Social Studies Text).

Science – This week students will investigate” What is the Machine inside you Meant to do?” Students will continue working on identifying parts of the skeletal system and their functions.

Tuesday: Literacy- Book Log  Math– Study Links 9.5

Wednesday: Literacy- Book Log/ Begin Reading “Owen & Mzee” (pg 613- Journeys) – Answer Essential Question (5 sentence minimum)    Journal Entry #16- Describe your favorite season (fall, spring, summer, or winter). Tell what kinds of things you like to do during that season. Math- Study Links 9.5

Thursday: Literacy Book Log/ Finish  ReadingOwen & Mzee” (pg 613- Journeys). – Make a Comic Strip  (pg. 623). Math- Study Links 9.6

Friday:  Literacy- Journal Entry #17 Describe your favorite character from a book, a movie, or television. Math- Study Links 9.7
